Mais où qu’elle aille, elle découvre qu’elle ne peut échapper aux échecs. Sur le point d’abandonner, elle rencontre le champion du monde, Capablanca en personne, et obtient des résultats intéressants.

Un paysan arrive à Saint-Pétersbourg pour trouver du travail. Il contribue involontairement à l’arrestation d’un vieil ami devenu dirigeant syndical. Le chômeur est arrêté et envoyé combattre pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Trois ans plus tard, il revient se rebeller.

But wherever she goes, she discovers she cannot escape chess. On the verge of giving up, she meets the world champion, Capablanca himself, and achieves some interesting results.

A peasant arrives in St. Petersburg looking for work. He unwittingly contributes to the arrest of an old friend who has become a union leader. The unemployed man is arrested and sent to fight in World War I. Three years later, he returns to rebel.
